Loxahatchee Groves is located in Southeast Florida, less than thirty minutes west of the coast at Palm Beach. Bird watchers from all over the world come here to see hundreds of species of birds that inhabit the pine flatwoods, Bald Cypress swamp and Everglades marshes.

Lake Okeechobee is the largest freshwater lake in the state of Florida. It is as shallow as it is large, with depths ranging from one to thirteen feet. It is a popular spot among anglers and also hikers and bikers; a long stretch of the Florida Trail runs along the 100-foot-wide dike that surrounds the lake.

The nearby town of Wellington is a well-known equestrian community. Each year it hosts the Winter Equestrian Festival and the National Horse Show. Polo is also popular here, and polo tournaments draw the finest players in the world to Wellington.
