High Springs is in the heart of Northeast Florida, approximately an hour from both the Gulf Coast and the Atlantic Ocean. It is twenty miles northwest of Gainesville, home to the University of Florida and a thriving arts and culture community. The town of High Springs itself is small and picturesque, with numerous historic properties and antique shops, and an abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities.

Springs are everywhere, feeding the Santa Fe, Suwannee, and Ichetucknee Rivers. High Springs Florida Bed and Breakfasts are in close proximity to Blue Springs and Ginnie Springs, Ichetucknee Springs State Park and Poe Springs Park. Divers come from all over the world to experience the clear waters of Ginnie Springs and the extensive underwater caves system known as the Devil's Eye/Ear. In fact, the best fresh water diving in the state of Florida is in this area, an easy drive from High Springs.

Travelers interested in staying dry will enjoy exploring nearby Gainesville. Take in a performance at the Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, or watch a movie in the historic Hippodrome State Theatre. Spend an afternoon at at the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art, or visit the Florida Museum of Natural History, which features exhibits as varied as butterflies and crime investigation.

Back in High Springs, browse the antique shops in the historic downtown, or take a walking tour of the numerous historic buildings, down streets shaded by enormous live-oak trees. Or simply relax in High Springs Florida Bed and Breakfasts.
