Concerts and Food in St. Augustine

It’s hard to beat an outdoor concert in a beautiful setting, and that’s what guests of St. Augustine, Florida Bed and Breakfasts will find on Thursday nights throughout the summer. With the addition of a delicious meal, the evening will be complete.

Old friends and new gather in the historic town square of St. Augustine to listen to musicians perform a variety of music genres: Bluegrass, Jazz, Swing, Old Time, Rock, and more. Folks stretch out in the shade of lovely old oak trees, sharing quiet conversation and sipping lemonade (alcohol is prohibited).

Concerts in the Plaza begin at 7 p.m.. Remaining concerts this year will feature:

  • Mike Hart Band – August 4
  • Mischief Express – August 11
  • Elizabeth & The Grapes of Roth – August 18
  • Triple Rock Blues Band – August 25
  • Old City Farmers – September 1
  • The St. Augustine Jazz Society All Stars and Jazz Piersonfied – Sept 5, 1 – 5 p.m.

There are a number of good restaurants near the Plaza. Dine early, before the show, or linger over dinner afterwards. Read on for suggestions:

  • A1A Aleworks – great food, great beer, and great views of Mantanza Bay.
  • Bistro de Leon – amazing traditional French cuisine by esteemed French Chef Jean Stephane Poinard. Allow ample time to enjoy the meal.
  • Athena Cafe – a quaint diner with some of the best Greek food in town.
