The Historic Rossetter House Museum and Gardens

If you should tire of relaxing on the beach, boating, and playing in the surf during your next Melbourne Beach Florida Bed and Breakfast Vacation, consider a trip to the Historic Rossetter House Museum and Gardens.

The Rossetter House

The museum and gardens include the James Wadsworth Rossetter House (built in 1908), the William P. Roesch House (1901), and the 1865 Houston Family Memorial Cemetery. The homes have been restored to their original condition, and provide an interesting glimpse into how successful families lived in the early 1900s.

The Rossetter family arrived in Eau Gallie near the turn of the 20th century. The family had been in the Florida region since early colonial times, but finally settled along the Eau Gallie River. James Rossetter was a leading merchant in the fishing industry, and since his boats ran on gasoline, he became an agent for the Standard Oil Company. His daughter, Carrie, assumed control of his business operations after his death in 1921.

Spend a pleasant morning or afternoon at the Historic Rossetter House Museum and Gardens during your next Bed and Breakfast Melbourne Beach Florida vacation. The Vintage Gardens are open daily and are free of charge. Tours of the house and property are offered daily, for a small fee. Ghost Tours are offered the first Friday of the month at 5:30 p.m.
