With a view of the St. Johns River, you will relax in the porch swing, rock in the double rocker, or perch on the second story verandah and enjoy the slow pace of small-town America while you enjoy the gentle river breeze and observe festivities at Spring Park. Later, take the historic walking tour and visit local eateries, the art gallery, book store or pottery shop or drive over to one of the outlet malls if you are so inclined.  Centrally located in Northeast Florida, you will find us convenient to St. Augustine, the World Golf Village, Orange Park, Jacksonville and the Atlantic Ocean. We are within view of the Saint Johns River waterfront where there are boat slips, a fishing pier and scenic picnic areas with walkways along the creek known as "spring run". In fact, across the street is the medicinal warm water mineral spring that drew wealthy travelers to this area in the late 1800's to partake of the water. The current inn building was originally known in the 1880's as Cottage A for the famous Clarendon Hotel to serve her more "retiring guests". As a contributing site on the National Register of Historic Places, our restored 1880’s accommodation is tastefully decorated throughout with collectables and antiques from that era. Unlike hotel and motel rooms, each guest room is home-like with a unique character or memorable theme enhanced with high ceilings, fireplaces, transoms, original heart pine floors and cypress trim.  Through the arbor covered in jasmine you will find a secret courtyard-garden for your relaxation in any season. In the summer you can swim in the chemical-free pool which is fed by the mineral spring with 78 degree water flowing at 3000 gallons a minute. Join us for Riverfest, the Parade of Flags and fireworks on Memorial Day. Come for the Tree Lighting, Christmas on Walnut Street and Christmas Parade the first weekend in December.  From Thanksgiving through the holidays enjoy the Parade of Trees as featured in Southern Living November '08 Florida Living and drive through the two mile display of Winter Lights. In January come for the Jacksonville Winter Series Hunter-Jumper Horse Show, in February, the Scottish Games and in April attend the Clay County Agricultural Fair at the fairgrounds just 5 miles away. Round out your visit to yesteryear on Sunday afternoon with a tour of the old caboose, railroad collection and historic museum in the old courthouse annex at the Historic Triangle.
