Carriage Way Bed and Breakfast

Imagine walking down the quaint narrow streets of the "oldest City" in the United States.  Then imagine just walking up on the front veranda of the Carriage Way.  It is located in the heart of the historic district, in the center of fine restaurants, shops, museums, art galleries, Flagler College and Castillo de San Marco.

The beautifully restored Victorian home was built in 1883 by the Masters family.  In 1984 extensive restoration brought it back to its original grandeur.  In December 1998, Carriage Way restored the "Cottage" that was built in 1885.  It is just three doors down the street.  There are two bedrooms in the "cottage", each with its own Victorian style bathroom.  The living room/dining room common area and bedrooms are carfully appointed with antiques and reproductions.  Reserve just one the rooms or the whole cottage.

In the main inn, there are 6 rooms on the first floor and 3 on the second.  They are also filled with antiques and reproductions.  Here too, as in Old St. Augustine, the atmosphere is leisurely and casual.  Imagine sitting in the swing on the upstairs veranda and just watching the carriages go by.

amenities include onsite parking, a full homemade breakfast with freshly baked breads, private bathrooms, complimentary beverages, afternoon desserts, free WIFI, and bicycles for your use.

Carriage Way has been featured in newspapers, magazines and books throughout the United States and abroad.  In 1998, it was chosen by "Fodor's Affodable Florida," one of eight lodgings in all of Florida that are "Fodor's Choices."

In 2001, Florida Monthly magazine said "One of the Three Best Bed and Breakfasts in Florida."

In 2006, Folio Weekly name it the best Bed and Breakfast in St. Augustine.

The Palm Beach Post ran a feature article on St. Augustine and selected Carriage Way as a "travel destination."  Articles have been written about Carriage Way in the Star Banner, Ft. Myers News Press, Miami Herald, Jacksonville Time Union, Sunday Oklahoman and the Sarasota Herald Tribune.
