Flagler Beach is on the coast of Northeast Florida, about 45 minutes south of St. Augustine and 90 minutes north of Cape Canaveral. Flagler Beach Florida Bed and Breakfasts are ideally situated between the oldest continually inhabited city in the country (St. Augustine) and the symbol of the modern age (Canaveral).
Enjoy the beauty of the area while cruising along the scenic and historic A1A Coastal Byway, which leads guests of Flagler Beach Florida Bed and Breakfasts up to historic St. Augustine and beyond. The A1A Bicycle/Pedestrian Path runs along much of the coastal byway, allowing cyclists and walkers a more intimate view of the surroundings.
Flagler Beach is home to an astonishingly long fishing pier and some of the biggest waves on the east coast. Intrepid anglers may be seen dangling their lines from the pier from dawn until well past dusk, but the pier is also frequented by walkers and hopeful whale watchers; right whales have been spotted off the pier more than once.
Another good place to view ocean wildlife is at nearby Marineland, the oldest oceanarium in the world. The original facility was built in 1938 so Hollywood could film underwater. It was instantly embraced by both scientists and the public, and has been visited ever since. New facilities enable comfortable viewing of dolphins, and guests also have the opportunity to swim with these incredible animals. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity.
The Palm Coast near Flagler Beach Florida offers a good 20 miles of sparsely populated beaches, several state parks, and fascinating historical sites and museums.
